Why you need Fire Safety Training

It is essential for almost all businesses to have staff who are trained in how to deal with a fire or suspected fire. Unfortunately, ignorance is no defence when it comes to the law. As a business, you have a duty of care for your employees and anyone visiting your premises.

However, training can be expensive particularly when you are a small business with few staff – this training should work well for you!

About the Training

Adena Fire trainers take their responsibilities very seriously and aim to provide training which both engages delegates and assists in the retention of the information. The training content is based on the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 – the key legislation for fire safety in the workplace.

By the end of the training, delegates will be able to identify when a fire occurs (or is suspected to occur), how to evacuate the premises, and how to deal with a small fire (should it be safe to do so) with a portable fire extinguisher.

In summary, the training session will include:

  • Delivery of classroom-based theoretical training (click here for more details)
  • Live-fire demonstration – using our live fire simulator and different extinguishers
  • Q&A
  • Certificates for all students

About the Trainer

This training session will be conducted by Gary Critch, Operations Director, Adena Fire.

Gary has conducted hundreds of training sessions for businesses in London and the Home Counties over the past ten years. As a serving Officer in the Fire Service and having previously managed the Training Centre for all new recruits to the Fire Service in Essex, Gary brings a wealth of ‘hands-on’ experience which many training providers aren’t able to bring.

It is also essential for us that the delegates are engaged in the training. Delegates are able to ask questions relevant to their own business, and are encouraged to have a go at putting out various simulated fires that may occur in a business.
