Fire Strategy Planning
Why do we need it?
Fire Strategy Planning forms an integral part of every company’s fire safety activities, not only in its duty of care to employees and the public, but also as part of its legal obligation under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Chaos can cost lives
The two main elements of any company’s Fire Strategy are:
1. Fire Emergency Plans
Put very simply, Fire Emergency Plans are implemented to ensure the most efficient and speedy evacuation of occupants from a building in the case of a fire or a suspected fire. Adena Fire will document effective plans and procedures that will detail how the occupants of the building will be warned in case of fire. Specifically they will include the roles and responsibilities of designated employees, summoning and meeting the fire and rescue service, details on escape routes and meeting points, as well as contingency plans. The Plan will also include details of how to evacuate persons who are mobility impaired or those with special needs.
2, Fire Evacuation Drills
Best practice is for two full fire evacuation drills are to be conducted each year (with a minimum requirement of one per year), whereby all occupants follow the Fire Emergency procedures. The drills must be recorded in the fire logbook alongside the Fire Risk Assessment. If the Fire Service requests a visit to your premises, these will be key in providing evidence that your company is legally compliant. The Drill will also include evacuation, where required, of persons who are mobility impaired or those with special needs.
As Fire Service professionals, you can trust us!
Adena Fire’s consultants will visit your premises both to formulate tailored Fire Emergency Plans, as well as supervise your Fire Evacuation Drills.
These activities can be done as a standalone service or may be linked with other services we provide such as Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Training. We offer a package price for clients wishing to have either or both of the above services combined with a Fire Risk Assessment and/or Training, if conducted on the same day, at the same site.
As current or retired fire fighters in the British Fire Service, Adena Fire can give you unrivalled expertise and service, and ensure that you receive the best possible advice tailored to your specific business needs.
